Meet Acacia



Why did I start this blog in the first place? It was an idea that came to me one random day where I overdrew my checking account buying ice cream and realized between the overdraft charge and my lack of attention to my finances, I was only going to be able to make rent if I skipped buying groceries for the next couple of weeks. I pretty much just had a cabinet full of pasta and a random can of refried beans. I tried to look up recipes for people with my dilemma, but couldn't really find what I was looking for. So, I thought, I have an interest in experimental cooking and am going to school for writing, so why not create my own blog?


Who am I anyway? I'm a junior at UMass Amherst, experiencing life in my very first apartment. I'm an English major with a concentration in Creative Writing, and (hopefully) Psych minor. I'm obsessed with all kinds of music, I'm an amateur photographer, a ballet dancer, a writer, and have most recently discovered my passion for cooking. I guess cooking is in my blood, seeing as my dad's side of the family is all kinds of good Italian cooks. My boyfriend, Tom, is my official right-hand man; he has the same adventurous side as I do when it comes to cooking.
